I’m kicking off a Habit Tracking Challenge this January, and I’d love for you to join me. Let’s hold each other accountable and make 2024 a year of positive change and achievement. Listen to the full episode of Chitchat with HappyJackJack here to get all the details.

Hey, HappyJackJack friends! In the latest episode of my podcast, Chitchat with HappyJackJack, I took a deep dive into something that's super close to my heart – goals and habits! First off, let me just say – it's been a whirlwind over here at FOUNT! With Christmas around the corner, the hustle and bustle are real. But amidst all this, I've found some time to sit down and share my thoughts with you all.

As an Aquarius, I absolutely adore the energy of a new year. It's that time when setting goals feels like painting a fresh canvas of possibilities. However, I've realized that setting goals is one thing, but sticking to them? That's where the real challenge lies.

One book that's been a game changer for me is "Atomic Habits" by James Clear. This book opened my eyes to the power of small, daily goals and the significance of planning them into my day. Highly recommend it, and you can check it out here.

YEAR IN REVIEW: MY 2023 GOALS

    Scoring My 2023 Goals

So, let's get personal! I'm sharing my scorecard for my 2023 goals - from setting a morning routine (got a 6 or 7 out of 10 there!) to keeping the house tidy (a solid 7 out of 10). And guess what? I started this podcast, so that's a big 10 out of 10! πŸŽ‰

One of my goals was for my boys to become better friends. I've seen my older boys, Scout and Clive, grow closer this year – thanks to some fantastic parenting books like "Calmer, Easier, Happier Boys." And I even managed to plan those much-awaited camping trips and even a mother-son ski trip!

Another of my goals was to get the kids into a morning and night routine, and thanks to our chore charts, we did pretty well! And oh, the family vacation to the Dominican Republic? A dream come true! Listen to my full self-reflection on the podcast.

    Looking Ahead: 2024 Goals

As for 2024, I'm all geared up! I'm talking about starting a habit tracker – a concept I discovered in "Atomic Habits." It's all about turning those to-dos into daily habits. I’ve got a habit tracker from Amazon – the Track Me Habit Tracker by Lamire – and it's been a revelation! You can find it here.

If you're new to the concept or looking to get more from your habit tracker, you're in the right place!

    LETS CHITCHAT ABOUT HABIT TRACKERS

    What is a Habit Tracker?

A habit tracker is a simple yet powerful tool used to monitor and build good habits over time. It allows you to visually record whether or not you've completed a habit on a daily, weekly, or monthly basis. It’s like having a mini accountability partner right in your planner or on your device!

    Why Use a Habit Tracker?

Utilizing a habit tracker can be life-changing. It encourages self-discipline, helps identify patterns in behavior, and most importantly, it's a visual representation of your commitment to personal growth. It's not just about tracking; it's about transforming!

How to Use a Habit Tracker Effectively:

    1. Choose Your Habits Wisely: Start with a small number of habits you want to develop or maintain. These could range from drinking enough water, exercising, or even spending quality time with family.

    2. Be Specific with Your Goals: For instance, instead of saying, "Exercise more," opt for "Do a 20-minute workout every morning."

    3. Set a Timeframe: Decide whether you'll track your habits daily, weekly, or monthly. This depends on the nature of the habit and your personal preference.

    4. Make it Visible: Place your habit tracker where you'll see it often. If it's out of sight, it's often out of mind!

    5. Consistency is Key: The main goal of a habit tracker is to build consistency. Even on days when you're not 100% successful, recording your progress keeps you mindful of your goals.

    6. Review and Reflect: At the end of your tracking period, review your progress. Celebrate your wins and consider areas for improvement.
